As General Secretary Xi Jinping once pointed out," An economic power must be a maritime power and a shipping power." China is now moving towards the goal of becoming a maritime power and shipping power. After over 40 years of construction and development, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone has been given by the central government a new era mission and strategy of becoming a global maritime center city.
In order to find out how Shenzhen can actively, positively and efficiently respond to the major arrangements of the General Secretary Xi's Maritime Power and Shipping Power Strategy, China Marine Economy Expo 2022 is proposed to hold based on the analysis of the strategic objectives and development status of Yantian District. The forum has invited government agencies and institutions, experts and scholars, and industry professionals to gather in Yantian, Shenzhen to conduct in-depth discussions on the issue of "construction of international shipping center in the global ocean center city".
