January 2021 witnessed the official launch of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (the "Ocean Decade"), initiating the great transition from marine science and technology to deep global ocean governance based on marine science and technology. By holding relevant high-end forums and taking advantage of China Marine Economy Expo, Shenzhen is making a well-timed move to facilitate the building of a maritime community with a shared future and accelerate its pace of becoming a global marine center. In response to Shenzhen Initiative for the Ocean Decade, this forum will focus on three themes:"Advanced Technology and Platform Building for the Ocean Decade","Global Ocean Negative Carbon Emissions" and "International Cooperation on Marine Ecosystem Health and Sustainable Development of Coastal Cities", to provide a platform for exchanging ideas on China's Action Framework for the "Ocean Decade"(Draft), and to contribute to the development of Shenzhen as a Global Marine Center.
