The marine economy has become an engine driving the development of China's coastal areas and a new growth point. 2021 saw China's gross ocean product exceed 9 trillion yuan for the first time, contributing 8.0% to the national economic growth. As marine economy develops, marine ecological and environmental problems have become increasingly striking, which makes the concept of green marine economy development an important guide for the high-quality development of marine economy. With the aim of serving the strategy of building a maritime power and boosting the major decision and arrangement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, the Sea Area Use Research Branch of Pacific Society of China, together with Sea lsland Environmental Science and Technology Research Institute (Tiarjin) Co., Ltd. and CCCC Marine Construction & Development Co., Ltd., hereby organizes the first Marine Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development Forum at the 2022 China Marine Economy Expo.

The forum proposes to invite domestic experts in the fields of marine industry, marine ecological protection, and marine planning to have in-depth exchanges and discussions on such hot topics as marine ecological restoration, integrated and innovative development of marine industry and ecology, and detailed marine planning.
