Wei Peng, research fellow and Deputy Director of the National Ocean Technology Center. In the past five years, he has undertaken 15 national, provincial, ministerial and other scientific research projects, among which he presided over 4 national projects, 7 provincial and ministerial projects, and participated in 4 national and provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. He has served as the Director of Ocean Observation Technology Branch of Chinese Society for Oceanography, the Director of Meteorological, Hydrological and Marine Instrument Branch of China Instrument and Control Society, the Director of Tianjin Electronics Society, and the Director of China Association of Ocean Engineering successively. He has long been engaged in the research and management of marine energy development and utilization technologies, and served as the Chinese representative on the Executive Committee of the International Energy Agency’s Ocean Energy System (IEA OES). He participated in the preparation and demonstration of several major projects and plans, and has made outstanding achievements and contributions in the fields of ocean observation and survey, integrated ocean management, and marine disaster prevention and relief.

He is a well-known contemporary Italian political, economic and cultural scholar, and has won titles of the Grand Knight of the Italian Republic, Knight of the Italian Meritorious Service, Knight of the French Legion of Honor, Honorary Officer of the French Legion of Honor and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. His main areas of study include international relations, particularly in the Jewish-Israeli World, Eastern Europe and the American Continent, as well as those on China, People’s Republic of Korea and Vietnam.
JinHak Yi, Ph.D., Chief Researcher at Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology. His current research fields include offshore wind energy, marine energy development and offshore structure monitoring.
Lei Han, Founder and Chairman of Hann-ocean Group. He has won 15 awards by the Singapore Government, including the Defense Technology Award and the Outstanding Innovation Award. He presided over the development of the double-chamber oscillating water column wave generator-DRAKOO. The technology, certified by NAREC, UK, has been tested by the International Patent and Trademark Office and granted patents by many countries. The device has been optimized and tested continuously to achieve peak power generation, and its performance and load tests have been witnessed and verified by DNV GL.

Omar Bin Yaakob, Professor at Technological University of Malaysia. His main research areas are ocean engineering, marine environment and marine renewable energy.
In 2010, he became a research fellow at the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. In the same year, the UK Engineering Council awarded him the qualification of Chartered Engineer. He’s also a Member of the Marine Environment Committee of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects and an Associate Researcher at the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. He is one of the Founding Member of the Southeast Asia Ocean Renewable Energy Cooperation Organization (SEAcORE), a Member of the International Oil Company-West Pacific (IOC-Westpac) Renewable Energy Working Group, and a Permanent Member of the Organizing Committee of the Asian Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (AWTEC) Organizing Committee.

Nurul Hazrinabinti Idris, Ph.D., Associate Researcher at Technological University of Malaysia, Senior Lecturer at Department of Geographic Information, School of Building Environment and Surveying, Technological University of Malaysia, Leader of Tropical Resource Mapping Research Group, and Associate Researcher of Geoscience and Digital Earth Center (INSTeG). He was awarded the 2018 Endeavour Scholarship and the Postdoctoral Scholarship of the Technological University of Malaysia by the Australian Department of Education and Training, and had one-year postdoctoral research at Newcastle University. Her main research areas are ocean remote sensing, coastal elevation data processing, physical oceanography of space technology, sea level rise and climate change, marine energy resources and renewable energy.
Jiyang Zhang, Senior Engineer of China Southern Power Grid. He has been working in the power grid and energy system for a long time, is familiar with new energy, renewable energy power generation, energy storage, smart grid and grid-connected technology, and is currently responsible for the research and management of integrated energy service technologies.
Sichuan Wu, Bachelor of the Internal Combustion Engine Major at Wuhan University of Technology, Master of Business Administration Fudan University, Senior Engineer. He is currently the Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Industry Group, and was the General Manager of Youlian Shipyard (Shekou) Co., Ltd. and China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. He has more than 20-year experience in ship design, construction, repair and refitting. As the general manager of the project, he presided over the construction of more than 10 marine equipment projects, such as multi-functional saturated submersible support vessel, semi-submersible salvage engineering vessel, comprehensive geophysical vessel, jack-up drilling platform, open sea wave energy aquaculture net cage, and so on. He has been responsible for large-scale ocean engineering renovation projects such as Zhongyouhai 5, Exploration 3 and Nanhai 8, as well as repair and refit projects of high-end ships such as LNG, FPSO and luxury cruise ships.
Zhongmin Lu, Chief Engineer of China Three Gorges Corporation, Chief Engineer of Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. and State Council Special Allowance Expert. He has long been engaged in offshore wind power, tidal current power generation, water conservancy and hydropower engineering planning and design, technical research. He presided over and completed the design of Offshore Wind Farm of Donghai Bridge, the first offshore wind farm in Asia, and is currently mainly engaged in the construction of Zhoushan Tidal Current Energy Offshore Test Range and Demonstration Project. He undertakes more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial scientific and technological innovation projects, has compiled more than 10 national and industrial technical standards.
Ling Yuan, Deputy General Manager of Guodian United Power Technology Co., Ltd., Executive Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Power Generation Technology of Energy Tidal Ocean Energy, Member of Marine Renewable Energy Branch of China Association of Ocean Engineering, Member of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Wind Machinery, Member of Energy Industry Wind Power Standardization Committee, Expert of National Science and Technology Award Expert Database, Member of Editorial Committee of National Key R&D Program Guide and a professor level senior engineer. She has long been engaged in the R&D of new energy power generation equipment technology. She has been granted 43 national patents, including 12 invention patents, and has compiled 6 industry standards. She won a second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and 11 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
Dong Lin, Chairman of Hangzhou Green full Group and the Chief Engineer and Chairman of Hangzhou Lin Dong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.. He is a Standing Committee Member of the All-China Youth Federation, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
He presided over research and development of the “3.4MW LHD Lindong Modular Large-scale Ocean Tidal Current Energy Generator Unit”, with a total of 59 authorized international and domestic patents out of which 23 are invention patents by him as the first inventor. In April 2018, the project was selected as one of the 20 Highlighted Global Oceanic Energy Projects published by the International Energy Agency’s Ocean Energy System-Technical Cooperation Program (IEA OES-TCP). At present, the generator unit is also the only megawatt-level tidal current energy generator in the world that can realize continuous operation around the clock.
Jianfeng Yu, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Hangzhou Jianghe Hydro-Electrical Technology Co., Ltd.
He is mainly engaged in fluid machinery design and manufacturing work, and has presided over 9 national and provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. He has been the Technical Principal of “Horizontal-axis Self-variable Distance Tidal Current Energy Engineering Prototype Design Finalization”, a National Marine Renewable Energy Special Fund Project; Project Principal of “Demonstration and Application of Power Supply System for Ocean Energy Underwater Oceanic Instruments”; Technical Principal of the “New Generator Unit Manufacturing” under the “New Tidal Generator Unit Development” project, part of the 863 Project. In 2018, he presided over the development of important technical equipment of the 40MW centrifugal pump with the largest single unit capacity in China. And he also presided over compilation of four national and industrial standards. He has won 6 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, was granted 3 national invention patents and 6 utility model patents.
Songwei Sheng, Ph.D., research fellow and Director of Ocean Energy Research Office, Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He has been engaged in theoretical research, technical development and application demonstration of ocean wave energy power generation for a long time. He presided over the construction of 10kW eagle device concept prototype “Eagle 1”, 100kW eagle device engineering prototype “Wanshan” and 260kW offshore movable energy platform “Xiandao 1”, and successfully realized the application demonstration of wave energy device for grid-connected power supply of offshore and high seas islands. He is currently in charge of the construction of the South China Sea MW-level wave energy demonstration project. He has won more than 20 national invention patents, 6 international invention patents, published a monograph and more than 30 academic papers.

He is the current Deputy Dean of the Ocean Academy, Zhejiang University, Executive Deputy Director of the National Local Joint Laboratory of Ocean Engineering, Executive Director of the China Renewable Energy Society and Director of Oceanic Energy Specialized Committee, expert panelist of the Mechanical Discipline of NSFC, Expert of Project 863 of Ministry of Science and Technology, Expert of National Major Special Guidelines, Member of Academic Committee of State Key Laboratory of Wind Power Technology. He has been authorized more than 70 invention patents at home and abroad and published more than 200 papers. He has won the first prize (ranked first) of the Science and Technology Progress Award by the Ministry of Education of the University, the first prize (ranked first) of Marine Science and Technology Award.
Yanjun Liu, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Shandong University, academic leader of Marine Equipment and Information Engineering at the Institute of Oceanography of Shandong University; currently the executive director of Marine Renewable Energy Branch of China Association of Ocean Engineering.
He has been engaged in research on wave energy power generation technology, and independent research and development of oscillating float wave energy power generation equipment, and made successful sea trials; developed and designed floating wave energy independent power system; designed and manufactured the Wave Power Generation System for Horizontal Axis Rotor Turbine; studied on the mechanism and key technology to improve energy capture efficiency of floating hydraulic wave power generation system. In recent years, he has published more than 30 papers on SCI and EI journals, 4 monographs, 15 national invention patents and 6 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
Hongzhou He, professor at Jimei University, doctoral supervisor of the first-tier discipline of Ship and Ocean Engineering, adjunct professor and doctoral supervisor of Xiamen University; Vice President of the Fujian Energy Research Association, director of the China Engineering Thermophysics Association, Director of China Ocean Engineering Association, member of Thermodynamics and Engineering Application Special Committee of China Energy Research Association, member of Thermal Energy and Power Engineering Sub-committee of Teaching Steering Committee of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Universities, and State Council Special Allowance Expert. In recent years, he has presided over and completed such national and provincial-level projects as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Special Marine Renewable Energy Fund Project of the State Oceanic Administration, the Spark Program Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the sub-projects of the National Key Research Program, and the major projects of Fujian Province in science, technology, industry, university and research. He has applied for nearly 50 national invention patents (31 granted, of which 12 were completed by him as the first inventor), published more than 60 research papers in authoritative academic journals (SCI/EI) at home and abroad, and won the second prize of Scientific and Technological Progress in Fujian Province and second prize of the patent award in Fujian Province.
