2021 China Marine Economy Expo

The China Marine Economy Expo ("CMEE") is China’s only national marine economy expo. Since it was relocated to Shenzhen in 2019, two sessions have been successfully held, making positive contributions to promoting the high-quality development of China's marine economy and international exchanges and cooperation in the realm of marine economy.

At the Opening Ceremony of the 2019 CMEE, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized in his congratulatory letter that the purpose of the event was to establish an open platform for cooperation, sharing and mutual benefits among coastal countries around the globe.

In order to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on building a “marine power” and important concept of building a “marine community of shared future”, and the spirits of his important speech and instructions given at the conference to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, the 2021 CMEE will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian District) during November 25-27 from a higher starting point with higher quality and recognized international standards.

Focusing on the new missions and tasks of the development of marine economy in the "14th Five-Year Plan", this CMEE will launch exhibitions, forums, and supporting activities, with the theme of " Sharing the Deep Blue Through Technological Innovation" and the aim of building a state-level international marine economy expo integrating technology exchanges, product demonstrations, results transactions, high-end forums, and investment promotion.

Four "Highlights" of the 2021 CMEE

1. Forming the "6+6+6" exhibition scale and playing its role of "trend indicator"

60,000m2 + 6 sectors + over 600 enterprises ，laying out key industries according to the "14th Five-Year Plan" .Six sectors have been determined, including ship and port shipping, marine resource development, marine high-end equipment, marine electronic information, marine ecological protection and biomedicine, and marine safety and modern services. High-grade, precision and advanced technologies and products of various sectors will be unveiled. A number of new technologies and products are bound to surprise the audience.

2. Continuing with the "1+N" forum model and playing the role of a "meeting room"

The "1 strategic forum + N professional forums" model will continue. Domestic and foreign academicians, experts, scholars, and executives of renowned enterprises are invited to discuss the development trend, technological frontiers and hot topics of marine industry. The purpose is to build bridges among enterprises, universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad, form a diversified exchange and cooperation platform, and create a multi-functional "international meeting room of marine industry".

3. Laying out and optimizing the ecosystem and playing the role of a "booster"

Industry leaders and upstream and downstream related companies, key scientific research institutes, universities and innovation centers are encouraged to participate in the exhibition. Governments at all levels at home and abroad, delegations and investment and financing institutions are encouraged to organize various activities to enhance the resource integration capabilities of the financial industry, and facilitate industry matchmaking and achievement transformation. A "window" will be built to help land-based enterprises to set off into "the marine circle", and promote the growth of marine enterprises.

4. Creating an all-media communication matrix and playing the role of a "speaker"

Coverage of the central, provincial and municipal official media will be arranged, and mass media and specialized media will also be engaged to promote the event across the whole network. Offline campaigns will be integrated to cover all communication paths and form a momentum of linkage. Resource platforms will be fully integrated and publicity potentials of exhibitors will be unearthed to expand the influence and penetrability of exhibitors

The exhibition area reached 60,000m2; 608 exhibitors from more than 40 marine-related industry segments participated in the Expo; 67 foreign-funded enterprises and Sino-foreign joint ventures were included;

Nearly 300 guests from 20 countries and regions delivered speeches, including 20 domestic and foreign academicians such as Pan Delu, Zhou Shouwei, Gao Deli, He You, Chen Xiangsheng and Yang Zhifeng;

113 supporting activities were carried out; important achievements such as "China Ocean Economic Development Index 2020" and "Blue Economy Stock Price Index" were released; 1,768 contracts and intended cooperations were concluded; 332 new products and technologies were released;

2 National treasures, "Deep Sea #1" ("Jiaolong") and "Tiankun" vessels, arrived in Shenzhen to root for the CMEE;

Nearly 100 media including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China News Service, iziran.net, and xuexi.cn participated in the coverage; over 1,500 reports and reprints were achieved.
